Polymarket Backtest Vol. 01 · Beta · Aug 2026
Issue No. 01 — Beta program

Historical on-chain analytics
for prediction market data.

A research dashboard that computes statistical descriptions of publicly available on-chain activity emitted by Polymarket smart contracts. Backtested benchmarks. Methodology transparency. Educational and research use only.

§ 01 / About

What this is.

Polymarket Backtest is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) analytics product. Subscribers receive monthly access to a web dashboard that surfaces historical performance characteristics of public Polymarket smart-contract addresses, statistical comparisons against random-entry and buy-and-hold reference series, and the underlying methodology used to compute those figures.

The product is descriptive in nature. It analyses what has already happened on a public blockchain and renders that analysis in a structured form. It does not forecast outcomes, recommend actions, or process any transaction other than the monthly subscription fee.

§ 02 / Scope

What this is not.

To remove ambiguity about the scope of this service — for customers, regulators, and payment partners — the following statements are explicit and binding:

§ 03 / Offerings

What subscribers receive.

A read-only research dashboard. No trading interfaces, no custody, no advisory, no signals service.

i — Historical metrics

Descriptive statistics

Win rates, drawdown profiles, return distributions, and other summary statistics computed over rolling 90-day windows of public on-chain activity.

ii — Backtested benchmarks

Reference series

Random-entry and buy-and-hold reference series computed on the same data, providing statistical context for any single performance figure.

iii — Open methodology

Documented assumptions

Methodology notes, data lineage, replication procedures, and known limitations are published alongside each metric. No black boxes.

§ 04 / Category

Where this sits.

Polymarket Backtest occupies the same product category as established on-chain analytics platforms — descriptive tools applied to publicly verifiable blockchain data, sold to researchers, journalists, and quantitative analysts on a subscription basis. Comparable products include:

Dune Analytics
Nansen
Glassnode
Arkham Intelligence
Messari

Each of those services analyses public blockchain data and sells access on subscription. None of them operates a trading venue, provides investment advice, or facilitates wagering. Polymarket Backtest is positioned in the same category, with a focus on prediction-market smart contracts.

§ 05 / Methodology

Open by default.

All figures published through the dashboard are computed from publicly observable on-chain data. Every metric is accompanied by its data source, computation procedure, and a candid statement of known limitations. Where a figure cannot be computed reliably for structural reasons, the dashboard says so.

Past performance, including any backtested historical figure shown on this site or in the dashboard, does not predict or guarantee future results. Backtests are subject to survivorship bias, look-ahead bias, and other well-known statistical pitfalls that we explicitly document rather than obscure.

§ 06 / Access

Closed beta opens August 2026.

Early access is invitation-only and limited to researchers, journalists, and analysts. No payment is collected during the beta. Submit a brief application below.
